About Us

Süleyman Demirel University School of Civil Aviation was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2016/8562 published in the Official Gazette dated 08.04.2016 and numbered 29678. The aim of our school is to meet the need for qualified technical personnel of the aviation industry, which is among the sectors where advanced technology is used most intensively. In addition, our school aims to provide the aviation sector with a qualified, equipped, researcher, open to innovations and visionary manpower who will reinforce its professional equipment with theoretical and applied training. The Civil Aviation School building, which is allocated on behalf of our school, is located in Keçiborlu district. The construction of the building with an area of 5018 m2 has been completed, and the academic, administrative, and educational activities will be carried out in this building. The departments opened within our school consists of 3 parts. -Department of Aviation Management -Aircraft Airframe-Engine Maintenance Department Department of Aviation Electrics and Electronics Our Aviation Management Department has completed the minimum number of faculty members stipulated by the Council of Higher Education for student admission in the 2019-2020 academic year, and our application has been made to the Higher Education Board for student admission. With the Higher Education General Assembly Decision of the Council of Higher Education dated 09.05.2019, 40 (forty) students were accepted. The Aviation Management Department was established to accept graduates who are intended to work within the aviation industry, and students who can reach the competence to work in airlines, airports, ground handling companies and related institutions within the government. The aim of the department is to train graduates who can understand the instructions of the functions they will work in, follow their goals, and work in harmony with other teammates and departments for these goals. In addition to diplomas, our school strives to ensure that its students acquire certificates valid within the aviation business, with the initiatives it carries out. In line with the needs of the sector, students have completed their attempts to take English preparation for one year. In addition, it is aimed to learn a second language with an optional foreign language. By taking aviation basic courses, students will become competent in airline and airport, as well as ground handling services. It is planned that the students who will be accepted to the School of Civil Aviation, Aviation Management department will receive their English Preparatory education at the School of Foreign Languages in the East Campus of Süleyman Demirel University. Efforts are continuing to ensure that our Airframe-Engine Maintenance and Aviation Electrics-Electronics Departments obtain the SHY-147 authorization certificate from DGCA and gain the status of a recognized school and become active. New faculty members have joined our staff so that our Airframe-Engine Maintenance Department and Aviation Electrics-Electronics Departments can start education as soon as possible and strengthen academically.
