A workshop "The Future of Aviation Education" was organized
The workshop "The Future of Aviation Education," organized by the Suleyman Demirel University (SDU) School of Civil Aviation, brought together academicians, industry representatives, and students. The event, which focused on discussing innovative strategies in aviation education, was held with broad participation.
The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Nihat Ayyıldız, Vice Rector of SDU, Prof. Dr. Murat Öztürk, Vice Rector of Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Kerem Türker, District Governor of Keçiborlu, Dr. Ahmet Songur, Director of the SDU School of Civil Aviation, along with academic and administrative staff and students. The workshop, which illuminated the future of aviation education, focused on developments in the industry and educational strategies.
The opening speech was delivered by Haydar Yalçın, a senior official at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation and Chief Advisor at Eurocontrol, who highlighted Turkey's strategic role in the aviation sector. Yalçın emphasized both the significance of Turkey's history in aviation and the future opportunities and challenges, offering insights into the potential for development within the sector.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. İnan Eryılmaz, Head of the Department of Aviation Management at SDU, emphasized the need for aviation education to adapt to the changing needs of the industry. Eryılmaz stated, "In this workshop, we are addressing critical topics such as technological innovations, sustainability, online learning models, and industry-academia collaboration. Considering the strategic importance of Keçiborlu in the field of aviation, we believe that this event will shape aviation education on a national scale."
The workshop continued in the afternoon with three different sessions. The sessions covered topics such as aviation education focused on social sciences, technical infrastructure, and pilot training. Participants exchanged ideas on innovations in the industry and the future of educational processes. This important workshop, hosted by Suleyman Demirel University, contributed to the development of innovative approaches that will guide aviation education in Isparta and across Turkey.
