About Us
In order to meet the need for qualified technical staff in the aviation sector, which is among the sectors with high added value and where advanced technology is used most intensively, the School of Civil Aviation was established within our University with the Decree of the Council of Ministers numbered 2016/8562 published in the Official Gazette dated 08.04.2016 and numbered 29678, aiming to provide qualified, equipped, researcher, open to innovations and visionary manpower who will reinforce their professional equipment with theoretical and practical training.
The building of the School of Civil Aviation, which is considered to be allocated on behalf of our School, is located in Keçiborlu district and the construction of the building with an area of 5018 m2 has been completed. In order for our school to continue its activities and for our academic and administrative staff to be structured, we have temporarily settled in the building of the Faculty of Law of our University.

-Department of Aviation Electricity and Electronics consists of 3 departments.
Our Department of Aviation Management has completed the minimum number of faculty members stipulated by the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education for student intake, and by creating the necessary faculty staff to carry out education and training activities in the 2019-2020 academic year, our application was made to the Council of Higher Education for student intake and 40 (forty) students were deemed appropriate with the decision of the General Assembly of Higher Education dated 09.05.2019.The Department of Aviation Management was established to accept students who will be able to reach the competence to work in airline, airport, ground handling companies and related organizations within the state.
The aim of the department is to train graduates who can understand the guidelines of the functions they will work within the aviation business, follow their goals, and work in harmony with other teammates and departments for these goals. In addition to the diploma, our school strives to provide its students with certificates valid within the aviation industry through its initiatives.It started with a quota of 40 students in the 2019-2020 academic year and completed the initiatives for students to take one year of English preparation in line with the needs of the sector.
In addition, it is aimed to learn a second language with elective foreign language. By taking basic aviation courses, students will become competent in airline and airport, as well as ground handling services.It is planned that students who will be admitted to the Department of Aviation Management at the School of Civil Aviation will receive their English Preparatory Education at the School of Foreign Languages located at Süleyman Demirel University East Campus.
The Department of Aircraft Maintenance and Repair and Aviation Electricity-Electronics Departments continued to work on obtaining the SHY-147 authorization certificate from the DGCA in order to obtain the status of a recognized school and become active. In order for the Department of Aircraft Maintenance and Repair and Aviation Electrical-Electronics Departments to start education and training as soon as possible and to strengthen them academically, new academic staff have joined our staff.
