TASK DESCRIPTION

In accordance with the objectives and principles determined by the top management of Süleyman Demirel University; The head of the department may appoint at most two of the faculty members in his department as the vice-chairman. The head of the department can change his assistants when he deems it necessary. When the office of the head of the department ends, the duty of his assistants also ends.

Department vice presidents are the lecturers who assist the department head in fulfilling his duties and are not the hierarchical supervisor of the lecturers working in the unit. The vice-chairmen of the department act as the hierarchical supervisor of the teaching staff in the unit, if they deputize for the head of the department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To act in accordance with the aims and principles specified in Articles 4 and 5 of the Higher Education Law,

2. Planning the staff and teaching staff needs of the department and presenting it to the Head of the Department,

3. To ensure that the lessons are distributed in a balanced way,

4. To ensure that the lesson plan and course contents are updated and harmonized with other universities,

5. Participating in departmental boards,

6. To plan the organization of national and international congresses in the scientific field,

7. To prepare the course and exam programs of the department, to supervise their implementation,

8. To provide graduate and doctorate programs to be opened in order to train academic staff for the department and department,

9. To establish cooperation and solidarity among the teaching staff,

10. To start preparations for the extension of the teaching staff's terms of office,

11. To ensure efficient, effective and economical use of resources,

12. To monitor the attendance and success of the students,

13. Evaluating the status of students on leave and on leave,

14. To carry out studies related to graduation thesis and graduate theses,

15. To submit the report to be prepared to the dean's office by carrying out the activities that must be done every year such as the activity report, strategic plan and performance criteria of the department,

16. To coordinate the studies related to ERASMUS and FARABI programs,

17. Dealing with the problems of disabled and foreign students,

18. Ensuring that documents related to additional course payments are delivered to the dean on time,

19. Dealing with the needs of the department,

20. Determination of undergraduate and graduate thesis advisories and their balanced distribution to the instructors, preparing course and exam programs,

21. To make student council elections,

22. To ensure that the WEB page of the department is updated,

23. To ensure and monitor the formation of graduate thesis juries,

24. To monitor the leave and assignment requests of the instructors,

25. Increasing student counseling services, arranging meeting hours with students, listening to their problems,

26. Organizing in-departmental seminars,

27. To comply with the ethical rules of the School, to support internal control activities,

28. To perform other duties assigned by the Director, Deputy Director and Head of Department.

PRIVILEGES

·1. To have the authority to perform the duties and responsibilities mentioned above.

2. To be able to use the necessary tools and equipment for the realization of the activities.

QUALIFICATIONS IN EMPLOYEE IN THIS JOB

1. To have the general qualifications specified in the Civil Servants Law No. 657 and the Higher Education Law No. 2547;

2. To have work experience at the level required by the job,

3. To have managerial qualifications; know the management and administration requirements,

4. To have the necessary decision-making and problem-solving qualities in order to continue their activities in the best way.

RESPONSIBILITY

The head of the department is responsible to the head of the department, while performing all the above-mentioned duties in accordance with the laws and regulations.
