Head of Department
TASK DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the objectives and principles determined by the top management of Süleyman Demirel University; In line with the vision and mission of the college, it carries out administrative and academic works within the department in order to carry out all activities necessary to carry out education and training in accordance with the principles of effectiveness and efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties of Department Heads are specified in Article 21 of the Law No. 2547.
1. The department is headed by the department head.
2. The head of the department leaves one of the faculty members as a deputy for periods when he will not be on duty.
3. In case of leaving for more than six months for any reason, a new head of department is appointed with the same method to complete the remaining period.
4. The head of the department is responsible for the education, training and research of the department at all levels and for the regular and efficient execution of all activities of the department.
5. He chairs the departmental boards.
6. Reports the department's needs in writing to the College Authority.
7. It ensures that all kinds of correspondence between the School and the Department are carried out in a healthy way.
8. It provides coordination between the departments affiliated to the department.
9. It ensures that the course distribution of the department is made in a balanced way among the lecturers.
10. It ensures the regular continuation of education in the department.
11. It ensures that additional course and exam fee schedules are prepared in a timely and correct manner.
12. Identifies the department's problems related to education and conveys them to the School.
13. It carries out the evaluation and quality improvement studies of the department, and submits the reports to the School.
14. It carries out the accreditation studies of the programs affiliated to the department.
15. It tries to create a communication environment among the faculty members in the Department for the purpose of carrying out education and scientific research in an efficient and effective manner.
16. Provides the necessary information about the Department for the Academic General Assembly of the School.
17. It ensures that course registrations are made regularly at the beginning of each semester.
18. The department is closely interested in the educational problems of its students.
19. It ensures that the student-instructor relations in the department are carried out in a regular and healthy way in line with the aims of education.
20. It holds meetings with the advisors so that the course registrations can be made regularly.
21. It ensures that the undergraduate education and examination regulations and guidelines are implemented in accordance with the spirit.
22. It ensures that the lecturers do their lessons regularly.
Section 23 provides for the planning and execution of ERASMUS/FARABI programs.
24. Participates in internal control activities by complying with the ethical rules of the School.
25. Performs other works assigned by the School related to its field of duty.
PRIVILEGES
1. To have the authority to perform the duties and responsibilities mentioned above.
2. To be able to use the necessary tools and equipment for the realization of the activities.
3. To use the authority of representation of Süleyman Demirel University.
4. Having the authority to sign.
5. To have the authority to assign, direct, control, correct, warn when necessary, request information and reports to the managers and personnel under his/her order.

QUALIFICATIONS IN EMPLOYEE IN THIS JOB
To have the general qualifications specified in the Civil Servants Law No. 657 and the Higher Education Law No. 2547;
1. Head of Department; Salary professors of the department, if they are not available, associate professors, if there is no associate professor, dean of faculties from among the assistant professors, dean on the recommendation of the director in the colleges affiliated to the faculty, and the rector on the recommendation of the director in the colleges affiliated to the rectorate for three years. The chairman whose term has expired can be reappointed.
